Mini-symposium on toxin-producing fungi at Ghent University
Vissza

We are glad to share that our project participant Pr. István Pócsi (Nemzeti Élelmiszerlánc-biztonsági Hivatal, University of Debrecen, HUN-REN-UD Fungal Stress Biology Research Group) recently visited Universiteit Gent as a guest of Pr. Sarah De Saeger (Centre of Excellence in Mycotoxicology and Public Health, Department of Bioanalysis, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences).

During his visit, he participated in a mini-symposium on toxin-producing fungi, mycotoxins, and their impact on human health. His presentation, “Mycotoxins and climate change in Hungary”, summarized recent mycotoxin-related research projects carried out in Hungary under his supervision.
He also briefly introduced the main objectives of our project, with particular attention to the role of Hungarian researchers.

The mini-symposium was followed by in-depth discussions on how to address the mycotoxin-related challenges that have recently emerged and intensified due to climate change, not only in Europe but also worldwide.
