We’re glad to share a new update from MYMATCH, exploring how climate change is reshaping fungal behaviour and mycotoxin risks across European crops.
In WP6, we study how environmental factors such as temperature, CO₂ and water activity influence the growth and interactions of key mycotoxin-producing fungi (Fusarium spp., Aspergillus flavus, Alternaria spp.).
Key focus:
– Fungal responses under climate change scenarios
– Co-occurrence and competition in maize and tomato
– Implications for mycotoxin production and biocontrol strategies.

These experiments generate new ecological data to support more robust and biologically grounded predictive models.
