\ud83d\udea8 How can we make food systems safer in a changing climate?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the MYMATCH project, UCSC<\/strong> recently completed Deliverable D3.2 \u2013 List of End-user Needs and Requirements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This milestone helps us understand what different actors across the food chain truly need to manage the growing risks of mycotoxins<\/strong> – toxic substances that climate change is changing in kind and frequency in crops, like maize, wheat, tomatoes, and nuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfaf What was the goal?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To identify the expectations, challenges, and digital readiness of farmers, food industry professionals, policymakers, and consumers – so we can co-design a platform that works for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83e\udde9 How did we do it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We mapped and engaged with 264 stakeholders<\/strong> across 9 European countries<\/strong>, including 58 farmers, 36 consumers, 87 food industry professionals and 84 policymakers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We used tailored surveys and interviews<\/strong>, developed by a multidisciplinary team, to gather insights on climate risks, mycotoxin awareness, digital habits, and willingness to engage in collaborative platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udc49 This enabled us to build realistic personas<\/em><\/strong>, i.e. typical user profiles that reflect real needs and behaviours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
